hes not a terrible defender, certainly better than finley, and he is a pretty potent scorer, however i dont think we can afford him, he will likely get close to the MLE +

Well, if you need someone who can put points on the board. Also can put up a triple doub...all by himself.

He's become underrated because of his at ude - fans like to think that because he went for that triple-double that he's only concerned with his numbers or that he's an Antoine Walker-style player, but he's actually fairly unselfish in addition to his respectable scoring abilities.
He's easily confused by screens but is an average to above-average defender one on one.
Ricky "oh " Davis
...ya, no thanks
If the Spurs become desperate, Ricky Davis is definitely better than relying on Finley's corpse. Not really Spurs material but start him at shooting guard, let him play at 24-26 minutes per game and he'd give you a decent amount of points. He's like Option H this summer but the money it'd take to sign him probably makes him a good value.
Give him a one-year, $5.5M and tell him if he buys into the system that the Spurs will reward him. Then just don't ever rely on him to do anything in fourth quarters. Not too bad of a strategy now that I think about it. Obviously there are a lot of better options . . .
Me-1st garbage player. Sure he can score and sure he mite be able to play sum D, but he seems to think that when he touches the ball its time for him to shoot the ball....
Please, no...
If we cannot get young but good wing player then SIGN HIM UP. I am sick and tired with the Spurs scoring drought....Everyone else who are contenders are upgrading..but all we can think is trying to be under the cap, at the expense of NOT REPEATING and getting humiliated by Lakers (4-1). First we lost Scola for money, and then Splitter...who's next???
Here's he;s stats for 2008 season with Miami:
PPG 13.8
RPG 4.30
APG 3.4
I don't know whether he can sustain the performance in 2-3 year. If for 1 year deal, no problem but why would he want a short term contract???
This is one guy I don't think even Pop can get to to play smart.
A big no thank you.
If its September, and no replacement for Finley has been found??
Maybe.
If we can't get J.R Smith or Azunuike he's my 3rd option.
Give him a 2year deal and we'll be fine.
He can score and creat his shot
I doubt the Spurs go after this guy.
Ricky Davis...Ricky Davis....Ricky Davis?
No way the Spews want that punk. He is a selfish player that has accomplish one thing, that triple double that he threw the ball against his OWN rim to get his tenth rebound. And being a punk SA is to small for him.
Not a bad target even if he isn't my first one.
I rather see Spurs going after a talented player with a bad at ude than a good guy with no talent. Spurs are very strong mentally-wise. I think they can handle a Ricky Davis or JR Smith player without a problem and even improve his at ude.
like many have said if we've run out of options and it's Davis or Finley i'd take Davis.
he's got a curse
Well, unless Manu is in street clothes, Manu will be logging the 4th quarter minutes.
I'd rather take a nap in poison oak that watch Ricky Davis on the Spurs next year.
The Spurs will need someone outside of the big 3 who can put up points next season. With Manu coming back from a short summer spent playing in the Olympics you need someone who can log significant minutes in the swingman rotation and score.
Hes not my first option, but I wouldnt mind if we looked into him
