Here, here. I had just chalked it up to a combination of immaturity and testosterone but you are right.
I realize I'm not from Texas. I'm a Californian. However, I'm as much of a Spurs fan as any of you and I'm disgusted and embarrassed that there is so much phobic hate speech on this site, particularly about Richard Jefferson.
I have no idea if he is gay or not. I don't care. What I do know is even if he was, it has nothing to do with him being a ty basketball player and a soft one. There is zero relationship between one thing and the other and anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant at best or a bigot at worst.
Regardless of whether people here mean what they write or it's said in jest, it really has gotten way out of hand and it sickens me, calling the guy a " got" because he doesn't go to the basket or whatever. It's 2012, people should stop thinking this way. You're better than that. Quit embarrassing yourselves, embarrassing the Spurs and embarrassing me.
Frankly, I'm surprised and disappointed that L.J. and Kori have let it go on this much and haven't policed it better.
Anyway, Jefferson is gone. I hope all your phobia goes with him. It's just sad.

Those posts are gay.
PS: Couldn't help it.
Bravo. Very well said. (OP that is).
I could care less about his sexual orientation. My problems with him are strictly related to his level of play.
Enbarrasing you? Who are you again?
As long as you're not threatening someone with intent to kill them who cares what its say on a board. Its the internet. Dont pop an artery.
People are en led to say what they want. If they feel the man is gay they should be able to say that. This is a fan forum which allows an outlet for the fans to express their feeling. If anybody feels offended by the the words of others then don't come to the site. And furthermore who are you to say what people should or shouldn't say?
Well said.
I'm a self admitted phobe, but even I think Richard Jefferson deserves a little more respect than what he's getting here. Glad he's gone tho btw
At the same token, OP has the right to say what he wants as well. And we have the right to agree with him, which I, personally, do. We've been known as a classy organization with classy fans (see after the Finals for many years, during celebrations, when they would say we are showing fans how to be classy after winning a le). What was being said about RJ was everything but classy. Yeah, he had some ty games, but he still was a Spur...a player on our favorite team...and he should have been treated as such.
As I understand it, the meaning of the word " got" has changed a little bit. To me, it just means a really annoying person. But I see where you're coming from and don't think that using the same insult repeatedly is very creative trolling.
Haters...
...gonna hate.
in dbags, I swear..
OPs gay or has family that's gay. Stay in Cali.
Also, this (the net) is sort of an outlet to say what you want to say without persecution.
I'm pretty sure most people here dont take what they say on here to the real world.
I see this place as my escape, well the whole internet really from reality.
I sure as dont call everyone I meet a got and say lol in real life as I would online.
That you do which is the whole point of my post. I will not hold my feelings back on the matter nor should OP or you but if OP or you are offended by the things which are said either address it (which for me would never stop me from saying what I feel) get over it or don't endorse the site by posting on it
whatever you do please don't jump off the George Washington bridge.
Grant Hill thread!
