Interesting list.
Wonder if Pop & RC would be interested in a Raja Bell or K.Kittles, since both are noted for their DEF & unlike Bowen, can both score consistently. I doubt @ this point in both their careers they will command a lot of $, both could be had I think for a reasonable price to back up Manu & Bowen.
antonio daniels please
Daniels is going to get paid by Cleveland.
Let it go.
Some guys I wouldnt mind having for the Spurs.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim Portland Unrestricted free agent
Cuttino Mobley Sacramento Player can terminate
Michael Redd Milwaukee Player option
Eddie Jones Miami Player can terminate
Tyson Chandler Chicago Restricted free agent
Stromile Swift Seattle Unrestricted free agent
I would LOVE to have Redd on the Spurs, but they dont have theto pay him what he deserves.
Raja Bell or Kerry Kittles, thanks RC & Pop!
I'd like to see a veteran point guard to back up Tony and Beno. Perhaps Damon Stoudamire or Gary Payton. They both have playoff experience and could bring some shooting off the bench. I don't know if Payton is humble enough to play deep bench, but he might be so desperate for a ring at this point that he might work for food.
I'm pretty sure Portland has an option on Nick Van Exel. If they pass on him or the team to whom he's traded waives him, we should make him our new Kerr.
Spurs need a long three and this guy can defend about as well as I've seen a player of his size defend. This guy could give Linton Johnson III a run for his spot on the team. Raja Bell as a future Bruce Bowen replacement could work.Theron Smith Charlotte Restricted free agent
Please, if we keep our draft pick this year, Linton Johnson is def. gone, if we bring over Scola then he's gone too.
Bo Outlaw might be a cheap pickup if Massenburg is not around. He still had some hustle in him a few games this season.
Is it just me, or does that list seem extraordinarily long?
Why would he be gone if they bring over Scola? Scola isn't a backup 3.Please, if we keep our draft pick this year, Linton Johnson is def. gone, if we bring over Scola then he's gone too.
i think that they will keep LJ3 barring a major roster shakeup. if the spurs keep their pick then they will be drafting a guy who they feel can make it in this league, regardless of position.
cavs are cheap they will open their wallet up to pay to keep someone?
The new owners haven't had a chance to be cheap yet. They'll pay someone -- they have too much cap space to do otherwise.
i believe van exel was hinting retirment after this season, but if he decided to stay around, that would be a HUGE pick up, PG for next year
1. parker
2. van exel
3. udich
van exel is always huge in playoff games.
We need better depth on our bench to replace Tmass, Marks & Rasho.
With Scola coming over one of those 3 are definitely outta here.
Raja Bell or K.Kittles for cheap would be great!
As I understand it the Spurs will not have enough Cap Space to bring in some of the Big Ego's mentioned above, i.e. Payton, Van X, etc.
I also would like to see A Daniels and R Bell, just my opinion. I really think Pop will go after a point Guard if we keep # 28 pick.
I wonder if the Spurs could trade # 28 for 2 second round picks. The draft is deep
and the spurs don't have a pick next year. I think Lakers might be willing to give us #39 and a 2nd rd pick next year
I have a question about the MLE, When you have an unrestricted free agent i don't know if you have to use part of the MLE to retain, as for example Glenn Robinson.
Right now the spurs have around half MLE.
*Actually nevermind, i found it.
------------------------------------
About Glenn Robinson, he is not worthy all the left MLE. In my opinion the perfect player that would come very cheap is Walter Hermann. We could sign him and another player for 2 millons.
