IMHO he is a big part of why the Nuggets lost last night.

He jacks up a ton of ill-advised 3's that don't go in and he made 3 TO's in a row that gave LAL the lead in the 4th.

As a floor leader it seems like the Nuggets are actually wearing off on him, and not the other way around. He and JR Smith are, IMHO, the biggest reasons why the Nuggets didn't win last night. Too many silly 3pt shots that had no prayer of going in.

He is not immune from criticism, but he does far more good than he does bad. The Lakers are by far the best team, so what is he supposed to do with the team he has?

Chauncey takes a big part of the blame for last night. Those turnovers and some of his shot selection really hurt them. His play was unacceptable for a game 5 in a conference finals. As much as he helped turn things around for the Nuggets overall in the season, he hurt his team last night. Denver needed more out of him yesterday, especially on the road.

The thing with Chauncey is that he'll have one or two outstanding games, and not necessarily with scoring, but with running the team and making timely plays. But, he can also be extremely underwhelming. In a lot of games, it's more important that he doesn't hurt his team than he actually gets things done. He'll normally have a solid floor game, generally not too many turnovers, be a calm and steady presence, and he'll almost always hit his free throws. But, not every night will he be able to take over the game like he did in the first two games against New Orleans. That's just not him game in and game out, especially if a defense starts to focus in on him.

But, given that the Nuggets have never experienced this much success this deep in the playoffs, I'm sure the Nuggets and their fans would rather him be underwhelming in a conference finals game than not have him.

he did have a terrible game including 3-4 consecutive turnovers leading to an 11-0 lakers run effectively ending the game, and followed them up with a handful of forced 3's that missed.
and JR is either a monster or nonexistant. no in between
