San Antonio Spurs @ Los Angeles Lakers
2/8/2010
9:30PM CST / 10:30 PM EST
TV: TNT, RTV
Radio: WOAI
The San Antonio Spurs will lace them up again under the bright lights of the Staples Center, but this time they'll be taking on the older Los Angeles brother, and they should definitely be ready for a much more formidable matchup. At 39-13, the Los Angeles Lakers are defending champs and the class of the West, and are probably looking to avenge a previous loss in San Antonio. This would be a huge statement win on the Road Trip, but the Spurs will have to play smart for 48 minutes if they hope to board the plane with a Hollywood sweep.

I predict the spurs most solid and consistant game of the season, anyone with me?
Please let Kobe and Bynum play. I want the Spurs to face their biggest problem.
If Kobe isn't playing, of course we should win..that's why I hope he's playing, the embarrassment would be too much..
Yup. This is a lose-lose if Kobe does not play. If they beat a Kobe-less LA, then it says nothing. If they lose, then it crushes their confidence even more.
Hopefully Kobe and Bynum won't play. It will at least give the spurs a chance. They need wins and their is no more time for statement games. Of course, Kobe will most likely play because he takes the Spurs games personally.

I wouldn't say it means nothing..obviously in regards to the matchup it doesn't, but I think the Spurs needs wins right now more than they need to know how they matchup vs. the top teams..
Besides, this game is on TNT. kobe loves face time.
I hope Kobe and Bynum play. That last game we played against them didnt do anything for me, other then getting a win.
Brent Barry is calling on TNT. Awesome stuff. Tune in now.
Bye bye Spursies.
No excuses, you play with what you got; it isn't less of a win.
FTS.
Dang, Barkley's hatin' on the Lakers.
good news for lakerfan. Barkley has never made a correct prediction in his life.
Why is Rajon Rondo in the HORSE contest?![]()
Ironically, the Lakers problem this year has been the inability to score while they're playing pretty good defense most nights.
Complete turnaround from last year when they were offensive juggernauts and decent defensively.
Maybe Barkley's onto something.
Please let Bynum play as well...
Andrew Bynum Out Against San Antonio
Mike Trudell
Andrew Bynum, who suffered a hip contusion against Portland on Saturday evening, will miss Monday’s game against San Antonio, according to Lakers Head Coach Phil Jackson.
Bynum had missed only two of L.A.’s first 52 games.

Kobe Bryant a Game-Time Decision vs. S.A.
Mike Trudell
Kobe Bryant, who on Saturday in Portland missed his first game since Dec. 8, 2006, had an MRI exam on his sprained ankle Monday morning and is a game-time decision for the San Antonio game.
Phil Jackson said after Monday’s shootaround that the results of the exam would not be available until later on in the evening. Jackson will likely address the issue during his pregame media session at STAPLES Center.
Kobe needs to sit the next two weeks, forget this game-time decision junk. He needs to get healthy for Playoffs; it's worth losing a few games.
