Really good learning experience today…
hate to say it- but pop apparently woke the up long enough to actually give a and bench some starters including wemby
only took 31 and a half ing losses for pop to realize that babying the team is doing no one no favors
players seem to have responded including wemby
and wembyhad to get benched on national tv for him to actually wake up from his slumber
if not for the play of keldon and vassell it would have been a W
Must have been a strong second half because I checked at the half and he was 11 minutes 0 points and like 2 rebounds 0/4 from the field, or something like that. I check now and he got 27 minutes 26 points 13 rebounds 2 assists!
There is no limit to his potential, the hype was for realz!

He could have the NBA’s first ever 50-30-10-10-5 game one day. Or maybe make that 20 assists and 10 steals, a quintuple double. I think they are under counting his blocks also, and each time they call a foul on one of his blocks it seems more than likely a blown call.
Yeah, it was truly a magical 2nd half. When we got within 6, I texted a friend that I didn't even care if we won the game... it was awesome just to see Wemby do what he did in the 2nd half.
Can someone please fire Reggie Miller for constantly mispronouncing Wembanyama?

That still drives me crazy, it’s not like he hasn’t heard this name a thousand times already.
He almost singlehandedly brought us back to win but then KJ had to start heroballing. Smh.
Sean said something interesting the other day during a game. He said that 3 of Wemby's past coaches came to see a game recently and they said something along the lines of not being surprised to see the team struggling early with the addition of Wemby. That the same thing had happened to each of their teams too when Wemby was added because he was such a unique talent. That it took a while for the teams to figure out how to best play with him.
I thought that was both interesting and encouraging to see that this is just part of the process to adding a talent like Wemby to your team.
Watching this kid play it will be robbery if they award ROTY to Chet. I get wanting to use team success in awards like MVP, but in ROTY? Why? It makes no damn sense. Plus there's no GM in the league who's taking Chet over Wemby. The dude came in with the most hype we've seen on a rookie in decades and has done nothing but live up to it and blow us all away but because Chet plays with an MVP candidate and had a year to learn from coaches he gets to win? that.
Wemby is on the Spurs though. This is how the NBA treats the Spurs. Our players are always at a disadvantage when it comes to individual accolades. Having Pop as a head coach doesn't help.
That next Chet/Wemby showdown will be interesting, even it the spurs get curb stomped.
It's actually a week from tomorrow, and ESPN is showing the game.
Chet with another ROTY-esque statline of 8 points and 5 rebounds in 33 minutes against the Clips.
Even the travel call in the first quarter was wrong. It was only 2 steps, just really long steps.
