    Wembanyama

Incredible shooting touch. That step back three miss where he was fouled was nasty. Dude will be shooting 15 threes/100 poss. He is a #1 prospect on shooting touch alone. Dho, pick and pop, faceup, mid post, fast break, whatever

Nice post play late in the 4th, doesn’t matter as he won’t get a ton of those looks in the NBA tbh. But a jump hook is always nice for a center no matter what, and he has one

Looks absolutely lost running the pnr as a roller. Needs more reps.

Completely soft on the boards, yikes.

Incredible second jump, and recovery in general across the lane. Will be an all time rim protector and help defender tbh

Awfully slow switching out to guards, but not horrible. Al Horford level at worst. Only about a step behind Scoot Henderson’s drive who is lightning quick, then got a nice block on his attack of the rim at the end of the game. A little late reading the timing when he’s on the weak side or caught in a switch away from the basket tbh

    —————-

    Henderson

Good natural shooting touch. Not a ton of range like Trae Young, rises up a bit slow, but it’s good enough. Impeccable Irving like handle- changes speeds, quick dribbles, can finish with both hands on either side of the basket. Extremely polished for his age.

Similar to Cade Cunningham in how he reads the game, but Rose/Wall like in his explosion to the rim. That control of speed is the most exciting part of his game, given that he is willing to make plays for his teammates. Found a couple of “easy” next pass away shooters which was nice, and had a good pocket pass on the pnr. Is a patient floor general, had control of the game and setting up his teammates communicatively.

Will still need patience tbh. Point guards take forever to develop no matter how good.

tldr: 0-82. shut Johnson and Poeltl down by Thanksgiving. Henderson is superstar talent, Wembanyama is generational talent
He isn’t soft on the board, in the French championship he gets a lot of rebounds. That was just a game without it but we’ll see more on Thursday.

This draft overall is going to be pretty good. I enjoyed watching this game though, both Victor and Scoot balled out. Can’t wait for the NCAA season to start to check out some of those guys also. We need to try and get some more picks in this draft for sure.

What difference does it make if Pacers end up with the first pick?

yes, it's a deep lottery. nick smith and amen thompson are going to be solid picks as well (if amen could develop a shot, he's scary good) but it's clear that wemba and scoot are 1a and 1b-definitely in a tier above the rest. they did not disappoint and both demonstrated skill sets and talents that validated the large amount of scouts that were at the game last night. get your spurs candles out everyone. we need to start lighting them now.

You know this is all setting up for the Spurs to finish with the worst record but still pick 5th while OKC and Utah get rewarded.

Brian Wright appears very capable these last 12 months.

I don’t think he enjoyed sniffing Pop’s panties/depends along the way but those days are slowly fading. We all make sacrifices to better our careers.

I realize it was a one game exhibition, but I'm almost always lower on players than consensus, yet even I was blown away by these two in the first few minutes.

The league's longstanding grudge with the Spurs (not being "partners" while on top + "load management") means they'll more than likely continue to screw them, but they still need to trade Poeltl and Richardson immediately and do anything else required to finish last and secure top odds.

last season my mantra for the Spurs was "every win is a win and every loss is a win" but this year it's "every win is a loss and every loss is a win". that's the closest i'll ever get to being an advocate for the "tank".

Lose by any means necessary. If you think Keldon, Vassell or Primo are future stars you don’t watch NBA basketball.

Yep, these two look amazing. Would be very happy with either one of these guys. Not going to be greedy. Would be happy with the second pick if we can't get the first.

Wembanyama looks like he's filled out a bit. Not looking quite so fragile.

He looks more like a younger skinnier Duncan than a death stick.

    Wembanyama and Henderson collide.

And Henderson is out of the game.

He doesn’t look near as frail or awkward as Chet.

It must not happen a lot to Rudy to have to look up like that.
