The poor people might freeze, but thats the case in any poor colder climate. Germany is closing it specifically because it cuts into Russian revenue. Did it ever occur to you that those lines about 40% of territory and 1,000 years of history weren’t really referring to Russia? Are there any other countries in Europe that in the 20th century lost 40% of their territory and had 1,000 years of eastern settlement nullified?
