I think Rush Limbauigh actually makes a good point about Obama here in this quote

Barack Obama, ladies and gentlemen, is a blank canvas upon which anybody can project their fantasies, or their desires. You look at Democrats in the audience, and they're swooning. He's saying nothing. He's saying nothing better than anybody in my lifetime ever has. The reason he says nothing so well is because everybody thinks that he's saying what they want. So they're able to project onto Obama their fantasies. If they believe in allowing somebody to marry a dog, they think Obama will support it. Therefore, I would like today to announce a tentative decision, I'm stilling thinking about it, to endorse Barack Obama, since everybody is asking who am I going to endorse, and here's why. Barack Obama is pro-life. Barack Obama is a Cons utionalist. Barack Obama believes in limited government. Barack Obama is in favor of health care savings plans. Barack Obama loves free markets and wants to protect them. Barack Obama is strong on national defense. Barack Obama is a tax cutter extraordinaire. Barack Obama makes my leg tingle when I hear him speak. Barack Obama will end the designated hitter rule. Barack Obama will establish a college football playoff once and for all so we will genuinely have a champion. Barack Obama will get to the bottom of Spygate. Barack Obama will offer free beer Fridays. Whatever you want Obama to be, folks, he's a blank slate, he's an empty canvas, and this is the nature of his appeal. Whatever people fantasize about, whatever they want, they are confident Obama supports it, too.

Obama is a liberal democrat, not a blank slate.

He has the same ideas as most every other democrat. The only thing different about Obama is the way in which he presents those policies to the American people.

Bottom Line: It's the same old policies with a nice, new shiny wrapper.

Oh, and Rush is re ed.

What's a "socialist" as used as right-wing slime? (I can look it up but what is the SPECIFIC meaning when used as right-wing slime?)

It's a a code word?, like "states rights" was for ins utional racism.

It seems that everybody who looked at both platforms sees that Obama and Hillary are almost identical, so Hillary's socialist, too.

I suppose all you socialist-slimers much prefer the fascism of corps/Repugs/neo- s?

seems pretty racist to me, historically, the attempts to reduce Obama to nothing but a "good speaker" with no substance

What substance has he given, other than the usual political rhetoric of taxing the rich, universal health care, and bridging the aisle in D.C.?

    Wow eloquent name caller.

You ever look at Europe? You notice they are socialists? Its called huge government that mandates what you will/will not have. State run health care, that would be a socialistic society.

I will take 30+ percent of your money (40+ in some European countries) and provide you with 75% of your health care, the rest you are required by law to have insurance to cover. Welcome to Hillary-care.

Thats the same as Sweden/France/England and so on.

Socialism is a redistribution of wealth by taking my money, and taking rich peoples money, and paying for everything for everyone.

I'm sorry but I already pay a lot in taxes and I pay a lot for my health care. So you want to take more in taxes and STILL make me pay for my health care?

Nope... I don't want it thank you. And I sure as don't want to be paying for YOUR health care. Sue me if I am an insensitive bas but you want health care? Go get your ass a job and buy some like I do.

Even McDonald's has a health insurance plan.

    THE BREAKDOWN

    Technology, Innovation and Creating Jobs

Obama will encourage the deployment of the most modern communications infrastructure to reduce the costs of health care, help solve our energy crisis, create new jobs, and fuel our economic growth.
    HOW?!

    * Support Job Creation: Barack Obama believes we need to double federal funding for basic research and make the research and development tax credit permanent to help create high-paying, secure jobs. Obama will also make long-term investments in education, training, and workforce development so that Americans can leverage our strengths - our ingenuity and entrepreneurialism - to create new high-wage jobs and prosper in a world economy.
HOW? What will you cut to fund this? Where will the money come from?

    * Invest in U.S. Manufacturing: The Obama comprehensive energy independence and climate change plan will invest in America's highly-skilled manufacturing workforce and manufacturing centers to ensure that American workers have the skills and tools they need to pioneer the first wave of green technologies that will be in high demand throughout the world. Obama will also provide assistance to the domestic auto industry to ensure that new fuel-efficient vehicles are built by American workers.
Again that sounds great but what do you mean invest? More subsidies? Tax cuts? Credits? Raise my taxes to pay for it?

    * Create New Job Training Programs for Clean Technologies: The Obama plan will increase funding for federal workforce training programs and direct these programs to incorporate green technologies training, such as advanced manufacturing and weatherization training, into their efforts to help Americans find and retain stable, high-paying jobs. Obama will also create an energy-focused youth jobs program to invest in disconnected and disadvantaged youth.
So you target poor people to take highly trained and skilled positions. Okay that sounds great. But that already exists. Plenty of scholarships out there for those underprivileged people who want them. And just what the is weatherization?

    * Boost the Renewable Energy Sector and Create New Jobs: The Obama plan will create new federal policies, and expand existing ones, that have been proven to create new American jobs. Obama will create a federal Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) that will require 25 percent of American electricity be derived from renewable sources by 2025, which has the potential to create hundreds of thousands of new jobs on its own. Obama will also extend the Production Tax Credit, a credit used successfully by American farmers and investors to increase renewable energy production and create new local jobs.
Again, Obama says nothing but "I will throw money at people more to make more jobs" great. Very good. But he will create new policies and so on. What policies? What is he going to do? All this says is "I will make more jobs by giving people money"

    * Deploy Next-Generation Broadband: Obama believes we can get broadband to every community in America through a combination of reform of the Universal Service Fund, better use of the nation's wireless spectrum, promotion of next-generation facilities, technologies and applications, and new tax and loan incentives.
That sounds alright. I think we need to catch up to Europe and Japan in this... unfortunately our country is REALLY BIG land wise... those countries are VERY SMALL land wise.

    * Protect the Openness of the Internet: Obama supports the basic principle that network providers should not be allowed to charge fees to privilege the content or applications of some web sites and Internet applications over others. This principle will ensure that the new compe ors, especially small or nonprofit speakers, have the same opportunity as big companies to innovate and reach large audiences.
If you have a better product, people will use it. Look at Firefox and how much share it is grabbing from Internet Exploder. Good things work without government interference.

    * Invest in Rural Areas: Obama will invest in rural small businesses and fight to expand high-speed Internet access. He will improve rural schools and attract more doctors to rural areas.
Woohoo... wait didn't you say that earlier?

And before you pull the race card....I'm not voting for anyone named Adolph either...and I'm German. So :fu

I'm not voting for anyone named Usama.
I'm not voting for anyone named Satan.
I'm not voting for anyone named Vladamir.
I'm not voting for anyone named Mao.

The way I look at it...if they are too stupid to change their name? They are too stupid to be President.

And just to prove I'm not racist...I'm German and even though I wouldn't vote for someone named Adolph, I would vote for an Austrian named Arnie

That's unfortunate, I hear the Satan/Mao ticket might be a viable third party ticket this year. I think people are finally over the "being expelled from Heaven"-gate controversy.

That's terrible logic. With today's "gotcha" investigative journalism, someone would've found out that his given middle name at birth was Hussein, and they would've used that to exploit him even further.

This guy plays on the fact that he is "genuine", but he looks like nothing more than a political animal if he hides the fact that his middle name is Hussein, presumably for political purposes.

Something tells me, people like you wouldn't have voted for Obama even if his middle name was James, so I don't guess it matters too much that his actual middle name is a known fact.

White men hyping "Hussein" name as THE KEY POINT is the right-wing new code word for " ", which is exactly in line with 35+ years of Repug "southern strategy", ie, "The Repug party is the party of white people against and over non-whites".

It's not by mistake that the murderous "lynch" has been used recently, at least twice, by right-wingers.
