I still don't like the jacking up 3s by Victor. I know he can make them, but I also know he can get himself an easier shot.

I mean Wembanyama just wasn't giving an f with his shot collections with no expectations. half of his 3's were Curry distances

It's probably been more than a decade since Pop's had a decent out of timeout play. He's beyond washed and way overpaid.
I give Pop but this G league squad with Victor took the champs to the wire in Denver. Not sure what you expect.

Was hoping for OT so Wemby could go for a Quadruple-Dub but his supporting cast wants to go home unfortunately.
That last three by Wemby told me he wanted to go home too tbh.

Victor couldn't buy a bucket tonight, unfortunate because the game certainly was within reach... nights like that happen, onto the next.

He seemed gassed, probably never been to Denver.

    2-11 on 3s for Victor
    The high elevation doesn't help.

Also don't forget Pop made Victor play most of the first quarter, he was totally gassed when he went to the bench, maybe that threw his shot off for the rest of the game.

Maybe, but I’ve notice the less arch the more misses

Some of y’all are simply pathetic with your boring ass Pop/Brian Wright takes.

This was a great game. The guys played their hearts out and came up short against the top seed in the West playing for positioning.

BTW congrats on Tre for his triple double!

Victor came close to the quadruple, there is zero doubt he'll get it soon enough.

Spurs need a 3pt shooter. Relying again and again on your center to shoot a clutch 3 from 26+ feet isn't a great game plan.
To be fair, the Spurs didn't have Vassell, Keldon, or Osman available at the end of the game. There aren't a lot of shooters left.

Were the spurs out of ing timeouts?

pop refuses to call timeouts when victor is gassed

call the ing timeout- let victor get a quick blow then run a play for victor

Only 2 TO’s for Wemby tonight but 31% FG. He needs to be a little patient. He makes sone of those and a little help from the ref, they won that game. Still we need the L.

Tbh this G-League squad played better than the regulars, with their hassling and attacking the rim.

Braun should’ve attempted that layup instead of passing to MPJr for a eventual 3pts. That would’ve been Wemby’s 10th block for a triple-double

Like when you run out of hard drive space, I think Brian Wright got the "you've reached the maximum number of SRPs" error message
his dumb ass traded a high SRP last year for two future SRPs

because we needed more. coulda just taken some guy who was willing to sit on a 2-way instead of using the spot on bediako, rice, etc.

amari bailey, gg jackson, emoni bates, among others, were all 2nd rounders last year who ended up accepting 2 way contracts

That was an amazing game. Denver has an extreme home court advantage and the spurs still had them on the ropes. They looked definitely gassed after that transition-heavy third quarter.

And 44 three point attempts was encouraging.

Yeah, pretty much the whole roster came to play. It's in Denver, too - which obviously does count for something, especially for a rookie. I think it's safe to say the guys absolutely played their hearts out. It's clear (for once) we're tanking. Nothing else to take away from this game except watch out when the Spurs actually become good.

What I care more about is how quickly Wemby bails on good position in the post. I think helping establish some go to moves with his back to the basket will be essential. With his length he's unguidable in those situations and it has to be part of his game. Jacking up 3s isn't ideal but also he's got no help out there at all. Without Sochan, Vassel, and KJ, this team is BAD. There were points tonight where Tre Jones, Blake Wesley, and Champgne all had incredibly awful moments. Just incredibly rough watching some of these players on the court. Its not that long when players like Eubanks were burried on the bench and now we really have players that have no place in the NBA filling up rotation spots. At least Branham played well tonight.
