Man, we would have been awesome. As mobile of a big as I've seen in today's game.

:wow We probably wouldn't need LaMarcus. Even if we had, oh my goodness.

2014 with Tony, Boris, and Rudy G? 3 Frenchies? LOL why the hell not.

Like all big men, it took a couple years, but Rudy has developed into a top player.

I'm sure Gobert would've killed it in the G-League

One of the biggest what ifs of the 2010s for the Spurs tbh :depressed

Its like people have forgotten Tiago Splitter even existed...

Yeah, he wasn't as athletic as Poeltl, but I'd say he was more mobile and probably had a better defensive BBIQ. Of all the teams that need better big men, 2014 wasn't it.

Splitter in conjunction with Diaw were effective in that time. Teams were simply playing more inside out six years ago. Jakob is a young developing big and much younger than Splitter was back in 2013 and 2014 (three or four years). SA had to wait on Splitter for awhile.

2014 Duncan/Diaw/Golden God gets me hard, tbh.

so you're saying, adding a rotation player on one team, to a championship team would make them even better?? BIG if true, it is insane how Pop misses these obvious things that we fans catch very easily

Rudy Gobert is very good but I am not sure he is a top centre, unless the standards of centre had fallen alot. His post up is not excellent and he cannot shoot 3s. He also came up with 0 blocks the last time he played against the Spurs.:spin

Tiago stayed injured a lot. He only had one season in his career where he played more than 60 games. He missed training camps because of it, which is always a big negative especially on the Spurs. The biggest thing of all was that he was mostly a 20 minute per game player, plus or minus a little. If he had been a healthy, 30 mpg player, Tim would have arrived in the playoffs with more gas in the tank, at the very least.

As others have said, 2014 the Spurs didn't need any more than Tiago - obviously, since they won the LOB. But a sturdier big man would have made a difference in 2013. And I would almost guarantee that in 2015 it would have made enough difference to get the Spurs to the WCF. I don't know that they could have beaten that GSW team there, but in the first round matchup, Tim basically had to fight off the Clippers' two monsters by himself, and it still went 7 games.

With Poeltl the Spurs would have crushed the Heat so hard the league would give them two LOBs tbh

LOL. They might have just dug up Larry O'Brien and given him to the Spurs. Whatever they did to honor the Spurs' blowout, I'm sure it would have been awesome!

Imagine how good the 2014 team would’ve been with a prime David Robinson tbh. Pop is an idiot for not thinking of that first.

poodle is more explosive/athletic... drives to the rim, shotblocking, but splitter was the better pick and roll finisher in traffic and a more sound/sturdy defender overall

and dont forget tiago sets wicked picks
