tl;dr: Carroll's breakout game?

That might have been the first game in the entire loosing streak when coaching made at least some sense

But why wasn't Carroll playing from the beginning?

I enjoyed the minutes with Murray / Walker / Keldon / Lyles / Metu more than the rest of the game.

Didn't watch the game. But glad it wasn't a blow out. We were in the game towards the end. Rotation is looking better. But Forbes needs to get out of the starting lineup.

Watched the second half. This felt like one they could sneak away with a win but that offense “that isn’t a problem” sure has a way of puckering up when it matters most. Of all the losses in this streak, I’m the least upset about this one though, fwiw

Bryn and Patty need to play around the same amount of minutes. 21 or so each. Use those remaining minutes you get from Bryn and give it to derrick. Bryn Forbes has no business playing 28 minutes a game. That way you can close games with Murray and white. Also, he needs to come off the bench. Start gay again for size or start Carroll.

If there was anybody shooting 3s, Forbes wouldn't be playing. But there isn't.

Tbh Carroll and Gay/Lyles should start the 3 and 4 spot. Bit of size and shooting. Mills, white, Poeltl and Gay/Lyles should be the defacto 9 man rotation while Beli, Walker, and Forbes are your specialist or minute eaters.

Right! This was the only part I was excited about seeing.

Thanks Timvp
Forbes deserves a F for that airball 3pt shot. His role is to shoot the 3, no way he deserves to play or even start if he cant even hit rim. I also dont think Popovich is not holding guys accountable. If defense is the problem and your overpaid "stars" are not doing it. Dont play them as starters....point blank. Play some guys who are hungry for an opportunity. There is no passion and toughness with this squad. And partial effort is spreading to other players, this will be considered acceptable to the young players

You can. With effort. The grades are based on offensive stats. Spurs lose because their effort on the boards and defense. Take gay for instance. He scored. But there were many many times last night where he got beat off the dribble, backdoor, gave up huge bounds and eas actually in the way several transition plays. These are all momentum killers. Yet he gets a b? If you looked at an actual plus minus where you factored in EXACTlY what he gave up INDIVIDUALLY versus what he scored or assisted on, he would be a net negative. Which is not good

I don't dispute that. But honestly Philly was too big. The rebounding disparity is not due to effort or wrong boxing out, for the most part. Plus Embiid was well guarded, still he was shooting over LA

The Spurs were out rebounded 51-32. When Pop took Lyles out of the lineup they lost their rebounding.

76ers had 13 o rebs. Almost every 6er who played had one. Spurs got out of position due to terrible switching on d and the random o rebs were everywhere

If you watch again the game, we were overwhelmed phisically. It is a fact that at every position except maybe DDR, the Sixers are bigger.
Effort can only do so much. I hate when the defense is passive and all, but this wasn't the worse of the games lately, far from it.
It was a winnable game, but to beat them you need a perfect game.

Lyles out of the SL, but not out of the rotation. 15 solid minutes. He didn't get the rebounds, but it was some very helpful offense.

So that was the plan all along?
