View Full Version : Would you trade LMA for DeAndre Jordan, straight up?

Considering the inevitable implosion of lob city, should the Spurs take advantage pursue this option if it works?

if LMA is going to become like Odom after the lakers botched trade, then absolutely

If they took Tony as well? Maybe.

Didn't LMA do that in the playoffs already?

How many years does he have left? Like 2? It's a big yes either way though. I can't believe people could stomach another year of LMGay.

Yes, thats probably the best thing we could get for LMA at this point.

Yes, if reports about LMA are true, go and do it.

Odom could still back Harden down in the post. Even today.

What would the cap situation look like if they did something like that??

I'm not the biggest fan of Jordan but Kawhi on the wing and Jordan in the paint would make the Spurs the best defensive team in the league by a mile..

No. LMA, flaws and all, has a game that translates. 7 ft centers that can't shoot have no future in this league.

Only if Gasol fucks off to Minnesota or something. Can't say I'd be excited about watching Jordan shoot 35% from the line for a season though.

Not true lol...

If you're the best shot blocker/rebounder in the league you'll have a starting spot somewhere

No. As much as LMA is pissing me off, he's still a much better player than DJ, who is literally useless offensively unless it's a lob.

I take it back, I don't want Jordan. The Spurs have no hope of beating Golden State in the next couple of years so I could care less about his defense and rebounding when Jordan's FT shooting would make Spurs games unwatchable.

bottom line is whatever happens with LMA, the Spurs will lose some overall value - there's no hiding how bad he was in the post season and other teams have smelled the blood already. So if you are set to lose some value might as well just trade straight up for whatever you can get that you know will have more balls and close talent

yes but I refuse to believe the Spurs need to lay two eggs in a row because of this and waste Kawhi

I don't get the Jordan hate. Elite rebounder, rim protector, and lob threat. He also isn't a complete stiff defending the pick and roll like our current bigmen. That's much more valuable than having a post game, imo.

And if you watch the State Farm commercials he IS working on his FT's.

Good God, yes. With Kawhi locking down the perimeter and DeAndre locking down the paint, there's no doubt we'd be the best defensive team in the league.

No, I don't want his salary. I'd rather give Aldridge away and take the cap space.

The other options is making LMA be the 3rd guy. For instance the Lakers struggled when Odom was the 2nd guy but when they got Gasol he flourished in that 3rd guy role.

Not today. Odom is brain dead. Drug OD'd early October 2015

I'm not sure. I do think he'd be an interesting defensive anchor but I"m not sure the Spurs have anyone on the roster currently that could help him have any type of offensive utility.

Either way if Blake is staying in LA as reports indicate, I don't think they are trading DAJ.

Yes that SHOULD be another option but I'm not sure he will go for it. It's tough

Why? SA was a good team with LMA whether people want to attribute any of that to him or not.

Because we would be an even better team without having to throw the ball into the block 20 times per game so that an inefficient player can make an inefficient play, tbh.

Get ready to see more of that again, especially with Porker out and Patty locking up playing time since Patty can't even run an offense. :lol
