Lol who gives a shit. Even if Kobe does come back strong and can return to where he was at pre-torn achilles, he's not carrying that team anywhere. He barely got them into the playoffs in 2013, and that was with Dwight/Pau still on the team. Now he's 2 years older, coming off 2 major injuries, and has a worse supporting cast in a conference that got even tougher.

:lol This is awesome. First the Spurs send Fisher and Battier to retirement, now Kobe is going to finish his playing days broken down next to Jeremy Lin. Meanwhile Duncan is fresh off a championship and has a legit shot to win one more.

Couldn't have asked for it any better.

Kobe's delusions aside, he was actually paying the Spurs a compliment.

I think Kobe is trying to convince himself that he has a better team than he actually has. I have no doubt that Kobe is going to come out of the gates competitively but he is going to run out of gas mid-season because there is no one else on this team that can score. I don't know why they would take Lin because he has to be one of the most overrated players in the league. Kobe is going to be the only person on that team who even understands how to win a championship. The Spurs have more than just one guy to take the shot in clutch time. Kobe is all alone on an island. Sadly, if they make the playoffs on a prayer, I foresee a massacre in the first round.

Pau thought the Lakers aren't a contender with him, without him they are lottery bound.

However, there’s no doubt San Antonio will have a huge target on their backs, as teams in the league will be giving the Spurs their best each night in an attempt to dethrone the champs.

Swaggy P has the matchup with the Spurs marked on his calendar. He finna go HAM

What player wouldn't say this? If anything it was more of a compliment than a jab - reading too much into it..

Well deserved. It really is a lesson on how you get guys to play together if they share one goal. I am very happy for the Spurs. It is a motivation for us. Hopefully we can do the same next season.

So Kobe isn't motivated by his outrageous salary?

I like your formula. You also might subtract from the totals the number of seasons they missed the playoffs. Which I believe means the grand totals are....

Duncan 10
Kobme 6

That looks fair....

Just debated a sour Lakers fan about Ko(ME) selfishness and he started throwing stats. I said no his contract screams selfishness and that Tim is twice the leader Bryant will ever be lol. That ended the discussion

Step 1: Get a top 5 pick next season. Git R Dun, high-yellow mamba!

Duncan:110 ORating, 95 DRating.

Kobe: 111 ORating, 105 DRating.

9 point difference per 100 possessions in Duncan's favor. 150% greater game score impact difference because he doesn't coast on D'.

Kobe is lucky to have 5 due to the teams he had. His 5 isn't worth as much as Duncan's, just like Wade's 3 is worth less than Hakeem's 2 or LeBron's 2.
