Probably sitting out tomorrow in any case. It will be interesting to see what this does to the rotation. Dallas is small, so Mills may get minutes at the two.

Looked like he tweaked it. He planted on the leg as he came down from the layup and immediately grabbed it.

Not by far. Manu's PER is 20.9 while Duncan's is 20.7. Wouldn't be surprised if after tonight Duncan now is ahead of him.

Regardless, though...I agree that Manu has potentially be our best player this year. His impact on offense shouldn't be understated.

Why? It is January and we are still winning. Coasting is not costing us games. The games that we have lost have come mostly against the elites and we lose them because we are out-played, not because we are coasting.

Coasting is good if you win games without overtime, old guys like Manu & Tim or even raped legs Parker needs to save game time, Tony is becoming an injury prone guy and he is already gassed.

Grizz had some lucky breaks to get the game into OT. Just because this one made us expend our players a bit longer than we wanted, it should not change the formula. If we begin treating these type of games like they are playoffs games, we are doomed. January is a perfect time to coast against inferior opponents.

They had refs help 2 times in the last minute, are dirtier than puke and shit together, looking down on opponents cost us the most solid player we had.
I like coasting till the 4th quarter and then pedal to the metal, not lame shit that makes you win at the last millisecond in overtime.
Im mad because this team cannot afford injuries, but the winning record is kickass.

That's fine, he will most likely sit for precautionary reasons but tightness isn't really a cause for concern. Sit him tomorrow, 1 more game after that max and he should be good to go. Low key wish something small like that would
happen to Parker so pop would have a real reason to sit him.

I know there are a lot of Parker haters, but I'd like to think that as fans of the same team we all realize we need Parker to be 100% to have a chance this year. Even if you hate him, a healthy Parker is better than what we have right now

Apparently something minor...

Ginobili said his leg began tightening late in the game, in which he logged a season-high 32 minutes. He took himself out for the Spurs’ final defensive possession, which ended when Mike Conley missed a 29-footer.

“I didn’t want to take any chances,” Ginobili said.

Ginobili indicated he might consider sitting out as a precaution against further injury, but otherwise appeared unconcerned.

“I don’t care about missing one game,” Ginobili said. “I don’t want to push it and miss a month.”

I agree wholeheartedly that Manu should and probably will sit tonight. That is a great decision.

Here is what concerns me: Why is it that our crack training staff cannot keep our guys from getting hurt so often? 30 minutes last night SHOLD NOT have created a hamstring sensitivity. Good grief, based on that reasoning, it is a total wonder that Parker didn't get a hamstring pull LONG before the 5th game of the finals playoffs last season, when he was carrying the team for essentially the whole year and playing more minutes than anyone else, FAR more than 30 minutes a game.

The occasional OT game, not unlike the intensity of playoff games, is going to require more physical stress than normal games. If what we are learning is that our players are not able to handle it, then somebody ought to be doing something about it, doncha think?

Manu and hamstrings are bad news at this point in his career. Hopefully this is not the start of the fall for Manu like it was last year.

“We’re not even going to look at him until tomorrow,” Popovich said after the session at the team’s practice facility. “He didn’t practice again today and we’ll put him on the court tomorrow a little bit just to see how he feels but I think it’s probably 50-50 these next couple of games. It just depends on how he feels tomorrow but we won’t take any chances with it.”

Who said he would miss just one game? Link?

Pop being cautious with Gino shouldn't come as a surprise... if Green is out though, the times for his return might accelerate...

What Manu wants and Pop wants are two different things... Manu did say he didn't want to miss a month, and he probably won't...

Not the point. Point is not the number of games missed, but that this exact injury completely derailed his season last year. On top of that, Manu mentioned missing one game & Pop said it didn't appear to be serious & now he's missed a few games.

The number of games doesn't concern me near as much as what this injury did to Manu last year.

IMO, Pop is going to be extra cautious because of last year... but we'll have to wait and see how Manu comes back from this...

I said so much for missing one game because he's missed more than one game. I also put "very concerning injury all things considered" clearly stating there were other things to be concerned about in addition to the games missed (hence the separate sentence).

Not gonna nit-pick. I'm simply going to disagree this is "concerning" until it looks concerning. Right now, the whole thing looks cautionary at most (from the reports).

Sure. Regardless, there's also always the hope that he learned something from last season and missing a couple of games doesn't get to his head... time will tell...

Spurs being extra cautious is logical considering lest year where he had injuries after injuries at his left hamstring.

This injury raises some questions because it's the same injury than last year:
Has he truly fully recover from last year injury?
Has he fully recover but isn't there an underlying cause (muscular weaknesses, bad posturing...) that makes him injured his hamstring?
Is it just a coincidence?

For the moment, it isn't that worrisome, but if Manu re-injured his hamstring when he will be back, it will be quite a disaster.

I agree if it is anything like last year and he reverts back to that Manu it will be a disaster. I hope he is just being very cautious here and they are saving him for a game where they might need him. If they continue to win now let him rest and get to 100%, we need that MANU way more than the one last year late.

Exactly, a recurring episode would certainly sound the alarms... which I think it's the main reason Pop wants to be extra cautious...

according to him, last season the injuries, lack of energy and 8 turnovers were due to having too much beef in his diet. this year he's eating 80% fish so he'll be fine
