Looks like hes taking his frustration out on the Knicks.

27 points on 10-14 midway through the 2nd.

Hey, Kobe, can you crash into KG or Pierce's knee on Thursday?

back to the lakers of the old. bryant will get his 50-60 points if the knicks stay close.

34 at the half. Lakers not getting much outside of he and Pau.

Could be in for a 50 point game.

if kobe keeps the lakers at the level they are at right now, does he get the nod over lebron in the mvp race?

i could careless as long as he delievers a ring but that could be an interesting debate. as it stands now, i would give it to lebron.

Right now its LeBron. If the Lakers get to 65 wins with Bynum missin 8-12, and the Cavs drop off slightly and only get to 60 - then he might get it.

kobe's gonna get he's points..what matters is that his teamates step-up esp that andrew's gone for atleast 8 weeks...but wow kobe's really putting on a show

bryant still has gasol, you know the all star on his team? bynum wasn't an all star, just a solid center. lebron has williams, the borderline all star. bryant also has odom, who is a borderline all star when consistent.

IronMexican

LO and consistent dont belong in the same sentence

024
02-02-2009, 09:04 PM
last year i remember odom was exploding on the boards while putting up double figures in points as well. he's a good player statistically, just chokes away when it counts. with gasol and bryant, he doesn't need to play the fourth quarter. too bad moving him to the bench really destroyed some of his confidence.

mystargtr34
02-02-2009, 09:07 PM
If it stays close Kobe might get 60+

As a starter hes not terribly inconsistent. As a bench player i agree he is.

knicks keeping it close and bryant cooling off a bit. definitely a 40-50 point game though.

guess u failed to interpret the question. kobe was the mvp with this current active roster last year. if he keeps them playing at this level does he win it again since the same qualifications got him the MVP last year.

lebron compared to last year has added mo williams.

Knicks have the best broadcast team in the NBA. I love the Breen-Clyde duo.

They'd make a much better broadcast team than Mark Jackson-Van gundy & Breen

i guess you conveniently forgot the cavs last year were 45-37. not even a 50 win team, which was the reason why lebron didn't take mvp. dramatic improvement from this year don't you think? cavs just need to get 50-55 and lebron will easily take it since it's already been predetermined by stern.

holy shit u sound like my kid brother did growing up. hows this then, say lebron's cavs finish with 55 wins. 8 game improvement. and say the lakers finish 65 wins, an 8 game improvement. who do u give it to?

But the Cavs are on pace to win nearly 20 more games than last season. Big Z has missed half of the season, and LeBron has been even more dominant than last season individually.

wow so easily agitated. i'll go back and say lebron gets it because kobe still has an all star on his team. cavs and lakers records are even right now so the win disparity between them won't be 65-55. it will be closer so lebron will take it.

If the Cavs win only 55 and the Lakers 65, i wouldnt have a problem with giving it to Kobe.

If the Cavs are withing 2 or 3 games, which i think they will be, i think you have to give it to LeBron.

nope not agitated. if we were talking the holy shit part would be in jest lol. hopefully kobe doesnt have to come back in this game but NY will prolly make a run real soon

Much tougher for Kobe to get an MVP because he "already got his" last season, even if he keeps the Lakers in 1st seed and puts up numbers making him a deserving winner. LeBron is next in line seeing he hasn't won one, the Media decided that early on as soon as LeBrons team had a bright start.

for the cavs to go 55-27, they have to go .500 the rest of the way which is unlikely. i can see them getting to 60+

So it's no surprise Kobe will score 50+ tonight.

Great interview after the game

Can you recap it?
I know many fans are glad (not all some fans here are classy) Bynum is out but that garuntees nothing we still are the class of the West and i think in a 7 game series we could beat San antio or Cleveland without bynum ...Celts would be MUCH tougher Phil has to develep Mike Powell in Bynum's absence

John Ireland just told his that was the most points ever scored by an opposing player in MSG and Kobe said "You serious? Thats awesome. I didn't even know" With a big smile the whole time, He also said he was pissed about "Big Drew" going down, and he needed to do this

hahaa yea but i dont buy it. kobe loves playing in NY. he WOULD know the record. but good on him, it was the PC thing to say and he did get the record. and its not like he was forcing up shots. he shot 19-31 (61%). 31 shots to get 61 points is efficient. but most of all, they got the W so off to a great start, post bynum

Lost in this was GAsol's huge game. Pau had his totals with almost the entire fourth to go. If they forced it into him he easily woulda 45+.
