i still don't see the reasoning behind rubio when the what the spurs need is a big.

If we get Rubio, trade him for a big man, or trade Parker for a big. Rubio's passing makes him a much truer PG than Parker.

Because we have a bunch of idiots on this forum who can't recognize our weaknesses in the low post and on the wing and have actually heard of Rubio, so they all start getting a hard-on for the guy, despite having an All-Star at his position already.

You're on uber fail mode as of late. Thats what THEIR mock draft says.

Then we will go to out graves with championship trophies. Keep trying desert donk. Maybe your local retirement center team might get to see what a trophy looks like, if they have a open casket.

If we somehow managed to get Rubio, they'd have to ask Parker to sign an extension. If Parker didn't want to or planned to go elsewhere, we'd keep Rubio and perhaps trade Parker after a year of integrating Rubio.

If Parker wanted to stay, we'd have a young franchise point guard to trade to someone (they're really valuable, especially after what everyone's seen Paul do with the Hornets). We might try a trade with Portland for multiple pieces, like Batum and Fernandez (Manu replacement) plus a few picks.

Unfortunately, though, I think Rubio has a buyout issue with his team and we probably wouldn't see him (to use or trade) for a few years at least.

If by some miracle the Spurs tanked this season and were able to get BJ Mullins, that would make the Spurs relevant for years to come. It'd be the exact same situation that netted you Tim Duncan.

You'd also be able to play the twin towers offense again.

Rubio could be used to trade for a quality big...

BJ Mullins for 2009 and Ricky Rubio for 2010...but what are the odds?

Interesting. But I've given up on the Spurs FO for now. They're always trying to overthink their draft selection and end up passing on pro scout rankings on huge gambles in Europe. :depressed

Rubio will most likely be the #1 selection so I see little chance that the Spurs will get him.

The sad part is that may be true. Not because "we can't get him," but because he is NOT Number One Overall material.

I think he's pretty damn good. Good size and uncanny vision.
