Thanks for the thought-provoking scenario (per usual), Chinook. You make a real important point about this scenario, that is a common thread with most scenarios: almost all of them leave us with considerable bench weakness. This is a reflection of the relatively subpar level of talent on the...

So what's the ideal draft for people? I'm starting to wonder if it would be Risacher/Castle. I'm not the biggest Zach fan, but he's the only SF prospect who looks like he could be the three-and-D pivot (though I guess he'd be an alero) that would let the starting unit work. Then Castle to come...

I was against trading up in this draft but if they like Risacher well enough then they should engage Washington on what it would take to go from 4 > 2. I don't think #8 should be involved but I think there's a palpable deal to be had if they wanted it done tbh.

Had a snarky, joke comment about how Buzelis cut his teeth in overseas leagues no one has every heard of... but am deciding to more maturely point out that Matas was born in Chicago and has spent his entire life in the United States. He played prep school ball in Chicago, New Hampshire and Kansas....

i don't see the discussion for risacher being all that relevant because there is a very slim chance he drops to 4. the only way i think any debate pops up is if any rumors about the spurs offering 4 and 8 to move up were to begin circulating.

the shot attempt at 0:23 is fuckin awesome. nearly no dip on the catch and shoot. thats what the best of the best shooters can do. Klay was a monster at that. Batum does that at a high level. even D-Lo this year

Sochan ranked 3rd in the league in perimeter defense last year. While he was crap as a point guard he is actually quite good at defending the bigger point guards. That was probably the biggest silver lining in Sochan's play last year.

The only issue I see in drafting Sheppard/Dilly/Topic AND Castle is that Castle stated he wants to play PG only. That means we’d be drafting Castle + a wing or other position such as PF/C. Also throw in that the Spurs allegedly don’t like Topic but are keen on foreign prospects with Risacher...

Don’t be obtuse. Reading for context is important, so when I specifically mention a player from THIS YEAR’S TEAM and say the UConn squad, I’m talking about THIS YEAR’S TEAM.

Garland is a better facilitator by far and was an Allstar only 2 years ago. Him falling off was because of Mitchell and he's still young enough and good enough to put up all star performances next year. I would prefer Dejounte over him tbh. What you think of Dejounte and Risacher if they move up....

Garland and Dillingham are pretty much the same size. Dillingham is way quicker and shiftier. Leaving aside that Dillingham is probably a better shooter. There's no question in my mind about using a single pick to get Dillingham than using a package and too much money to get Garland.

Agree, would much rather have Dillingham + Lauri than Garland + Risacher/Buzelis/Holland/Williams.

The more it's looking like Spurs might draft 2 guards if they don't trade the picks or move up. If thats the case, Sheppard and Sheppard and Topic would be nice. Maybe Sheppard and Castle too.

Dilingham is too small imo. Risacher can be a good 3 and D guy and I think PG is a more important position to fill and Garland/Dejounte would be great without giving up too much. No issue with Garland money as they'll have cap space. KJ will be gone and another Brahnam/Graham and some picks. Spurs...
