That's the big problem. Might have to book a flight for Ohio. I don't care if I have to s out hundreds of bucks, I'm not missing this eclipse for the world. It's my 30th birthday present from Mother Nature.

How you liking this 104 degree heat index today? Ugh ing mid June weather in early May. This really is going to be just as of a summer as the last two record setting ones isn't it?

And I got absolutely soaked yesterday in my own bodily perspiration on a bike.
I took in so much water and still could not keep up.
When you stop riding to get a quick drink you just get drowned in perspiration. I froze all my water bottles and they thawed like it was a 104 degree day. Yesterday evening.
If we are going to have this kind of humidity might I be so bold as to ask for some wind please.

I spent today in and around Detroit, it was 54 degrees today with occasional drizzle. Low 40s tonight. Not sure where exactly I'm going to be spending the weekend but last few days have been in the 60s in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area where I am currently.

My momma crashed her car 2 weeks ago and I basically told her to off and went to Michigan. She's texting me complaining how it's so damn hot and humid outside. I told her then why did you ing raise me in ass Texas instead of New Jersey or Philly where you were when you got pregnant with me in '93?

Holy ing I actually saw the aurora borealis tonight out here, not just with a phone on long exposure but naked eye. Must really be impressive in Michigan.

I've been in Sandusky, Ohio last 2 days/nights. Saw it last night it was decent but not like in the pictures. Night before it clouded up just like with the eclipse.

tomorrow it's going to be ing 82 up here. yuck. 69 high low-humid today, nice.

for me anything 80 and up is a stay indoors with the air conditioner on day. which is why i'm 30 and pale and youthful as , tbh, I guess, considering growing up in S. Tx. And to make matters worse the water parks don't open up here until Memorial Day weekend.

Ugh look at these disgusting lows next week. Ugh humidity is going to be insane when your low is 77 or 78. Probably means dew point will be 77 or 78 too. This would murder Thread

Looks less stormy than last year or 2020/2021, but not as hot and dry for the second half of May compared to 2022.

in 2022, for reference, the second half of May was pretty much every day in the 100s or worse except for maybe like 2 days.

Nah 2022 had 5 days of 100+ in May. 18 in June though. Surprisingly tame August and September in 22, which they were horrible in 2023.

I DO NOT miss that ing swamp weather. We're just cracking the 90s for the first time this year, with lows in the 50s. You really can't beat California weather.

Late June last year was the worst I had ever seen out here. One day it was like 101 with a dewpoint in the 80s in the middle of the day. San Antonio set its official high for heat index ever recorded three times in a span of four days around then at 117, and New Braunfels was 124 heat index. All they said in 2022 was it was hot because there was no rain and then we got a really wet spring in 2023 which just made it insanely humid while we still crushed our 2022 count for days of 100+, where 2022 was the second highest ever recorded (by one day vs the top year 2009) until 2023.

Crescent City, California (it's up by the Redwoods) has the most beautiful and comfortable year-round weather/climate in the USA. You really don't need HVAC and that's saying something because I get miserable anytime the day temps are over 72 and nights over 60. It also never gets close to freezing in winter, so it's one of the very select few places, maybe the only one (try to find another one) where you really don't need HVAC at all in the entire USA.

However, it's one of the worst places to be if there's an earthquake anywhere on the volatile Pacific Rim, because of its highly tsunami-prone location.

90 in May anywhere is awful, even if it's a dry heat. LA is generally too hot for me but there are microclimates like the LAX region that are nicer but ultra expensive.

Houston just got crushed yesterday evening.
Our friends from the Heights are coming to stay here as a tree fell on their house.

4 dead 1 million without power.
Basically a hurricane from the northwest.
Weather extremes continue seemingly during every part of the year now.
