Bynum>Blair>Oden to me. Bynum has really produced in this league, while Oden is still a foul machine. I put Blair in the middle because, while he has no ACLs, he didn't miss any time in college, and so has the smallest injury history of the three.
So, if you were a GM and had a choice RIGHT NOW, which of these young post players with a history of knee problems would you want on your team, and in what order? (Ignoring money and contracts, etc.)
Blair
Bynum
Oden
Obviously, Bynum and Oden have NBA experience and are far taller, so you'd take them before Blair, right? (or not?) What about a ude and fire? What about future injury risk? What's your pecking order?
Just having fun, its summer.
Bynum>Blair>Oden to me. Bynum has really produced in this league, while Oden is still a foul machine. I put Blair in the middle because, while he has no ACLs, he didn't miss any time in college, and so has the smallest injury history of the three.
Blair is at the last of the list. Don;t be a homer.
With that said,
I pick Oden, Bynum then Blair.
I'll be homer whenever I want!
Anyway, Oden's missed a ton of time as a percentage of possible games played, and that's why I put him at the bottom. Bynum>Oden>Blair in terms of actual production.
If salaries are neglected, then it's Bynum>>>Oden>Blair
Right now I would take Blair on the grounds that he hasn't missed 70+ games in any season yet and shouldn't even be on the list. I would take a guy with 75% of the production of the other 2 for 82 games than have guys with all that potential play 5 good games a year. We don't even know how Blair will be as a pro. If Blair stays healthy for a long career he has a good chance to be a better pro than both Oden and Bynum. Maybe Oden and Bynum are two big reasons he fell to the spurs. Bynum has shown greater flashes, but is still defensively poor. Oden has the most potential but is getting placed behind Joel Pryzbilla some nights on the depth chart, yikes. Blair hasn't even had a chance, so lets come back to this in a year and hope all people involved stay healthy.
as a joke, when blair makes the HoF. The first question should be. Are you proud to be the first player to be inducted in to the HoF with n ACLs.
I'm just going to post in this thread to state that Blair is a better investment for the Spurs.
bynum first for sure i have to wait to c blair play before i put him infront of greg oden
Bynum>Oden>Blair
Blair has a great shot to change some people's opinions though.
Better question. Would you take Blair or the 2nd pick of the draft, Thabeet?
Or how about, if the draft were held today with GM's learning what they did in summer league, where would Blair have gone in the draft? Do you think any of them regret adhering so strictly to their doctor's advice yet, or will it take a few months of regular season dominance to convince them?
It'll take quite a few seasons without major injury and full of dominance and all star appearances for GMs to even give
Blair>Bynum>Oden
I like Blair's at ude the most. You can tell he just wants to go out there and bang.
If you were to choose as they were entering their respective drafts.
1. Oden
2. Bynum
3. Blair
Right now....
1. Bynum
2. Oden
3. Blair
You cant put Blair ahead of either of them.
its really getting old hearing about Blairs knees when they haven't affected his playing since high school. Shut the up motha as.
Blair has been nothing but a STUD HORSE and I expect amazing things from him this season. I'm not predicting ROY, or anything, but I think he'll be a huge factor in several games that we win this year. Blair's new Chant to the rest of the NBA : "NBA YOU WILL PAY!! NBA YOU WILL PAY!!"
Exactly.
Lets see how all three of em do this season and then debate this.
I'd agree with that.
I think people are so hard on Oden because he was taken as the number 1 overall pick. If he had been in the second round, and now was contributing after all those injuries people would talk about how tough he was to come back. It's all about perspective.
And, sadly, money.
So far, you gotta give it to Bynum.... Blair or Oden havent proven themselves in the league yet...... I go Bynum..... then Blair=oden are even.......
As such I have to give 2nd to Oden just off of potential. Oden, if he can stay healthy and stop fouling so much (big ifs, i know) could easily be the 2nd best Center in the league for years challenging Howard for the top. Blair at best is a top 15 PF in the league who really can only play with a true big man.
