Just saw the Bruce interview
Some guy asked him about the division le and the great run this season and Bruce said he look for bigger things
When Tim Duncan says "such is life" in his interview look at his eyes.
They don't blink, unwavering, I wonder what flashed through his awareness.
Whatever it was it makes me feel like I failed to celebrate each championship enough.
Grow from defeat to savor the fruits of victory.

It will be interesting for Finley. He probably knows that if he picks up his option, then the Spurs will trade him and he will have no control over where he ends up. If he does not, then he may be foregoing some cash to sign possibly a vet min contract elsewhere, but it would be his choice and be somewhere he really wants to be.
I missed this, right after he says, "hopefully we can do a better job next year," his cheek contorts as he fights for control, and even still you can't deny the pain that slips past on to his weary visage.
It's the look of a man measuring just how many years he has left.
Finley's interview made me think Finley was not coming back. Finley had a great career, and I'm glad he was part of the 2007 Championship run. But, I think his days are over with the Spurs.
Bruce looked and sounded depressed but professional. The number of minutes Pop played him this year, I think Pop gets rid of Bowen. I don't think he should for various reasons that have been stated on this board, but we don't matter.
Bowen has still got it ... i hope they bring him back for at least one more year ...
i'd like to see the Big Four (assuming Manu , Tony and Tim stay healthy for all of next year) go at it again once more . i think all four of them can lead this team to a championship like they have in years past with the right pieces around them .
Finley , Vaughn , and Udoka need to go . i'm not sure how useful Oberto is these days either . i just don't see how any of these guys figure into the Spurs' future , at least as rotation guys , if the Spurs expect to contend .
it's time to add new pieces if we want another
I want to see at least one time a defensive lineup of
Sheed
Duncan
Bowen
Ginobili
Parker
Damn that would be Effin awesome
That would make my summer..
Along with Hill coming back and Ian hopefully gets some playing time and I REALLY hope
the spurs didn't lose Malik Hairston number and that Hairston would be willing
to come back.
Build for the future.
Build around Parker.
You do know that the players in that starting line up you just named are over 30, with the exception of Parker.
Having Sheed would be nice, but only for the right price.
Shaq is slow
Yao is slow
Bynum is slow
Oden is slow
Most centers in the league arent very athletic and having Sheed (who is arguably the best post defender) would be a tremendous help for the team and Duncan....
Welcome to the club.
He's incredible. His game reflects his personality. Brilliant, low-key, understated. On and off the court there's not another one like him.
You've got to lose to know how to win.
Duncan is known to be quiet, soft spoken. But he says a lot without having to open his mouth.
DAMN, how much I miss the Pop show..............
From the look and sounds of it...Fin wont be back. I loved him while he was here....but at some point it's time to go. I also like Mason saying that the young guys are going to get together and work on their games over the summer...him, Hill, and Ian. Bruce I cant really tell from him whether he's coming back or not. But like some people say here....I want to see Bruce, Tim, Tony, and Manu go at it together one more time. With those 4...and Hill, Mason, Mahinmi and maybe add some pieces in Sheed, Dice, Ariza (pipedream), or some other younger blood who can help...I think the Spurs can do it one more time.
What will the players do now? Stick around a while or heading on vacation?
thanks spursdotcom!
Those were some very good interviews. I can't wait for next season.
I'm pretty sure the exit interviews are the end of their season. They're off, they can do whatever they want.
I know Duncan takes some real time off, then he starts working again. He usually doesn't start real heavy work until August. He also does a players only meeting in August, gets the team together and runs through stuff.
Parker is playing for his National Team, I think he said that starts in a few weeks and he was going to rest up for it.
It's sad to see Duncan so down beat. It's more of helplessness than down beat. I think someone needs to be more vocal to Pop & the front office.
The Spurs certainly need more money to attract free agents and we ought to spend now more than ever (considering Duncan's age). We need more role players and not players like Vaughn, Oberto, Udoka & Finley to compliment Duncan, Tony & Manu.
Getting Tim help down low should be our number one priority this offseason. It's sickening to see Bonner with Tim. We've been spoiled by Horry's defense in the past. Horry in the years past was one of the best defenders in the NBA.
Fail - he made the wrong decision keeping Finley over Barry, because he has a mancrush on Finley. Barry was much more productive per minute, and more efficient overall. He was also much more versatile (playing 1, 2, or 3, and able to handle coming off the bench, unlike Finley). Barry was more fragile, and could support less minutes, but we didn't want our old men eating tons of minutes in the regular season -we wanted to develop the younger guys. What Pop should have done last season was release Vaughn and keep Barry as 3ed PG (this would have cost a little more). He should have released Finley and gotten Renaldo Balkman, who was traded for a TE (of which we had one of appropriate size from the Beno trade, which was expiring anyway). This season's team would have been much improved...
Personally I hope Pop, Manu, Fab's family....someone, anyone will talk him into retirement. He has already climbed to the top of the mountain both for the Spurs and for Argentina. The last thing anyone of us Spurs fans want to see is him grabbing an important rebound and collapsing on the floor with a massive heart attack. He has nothing else to prove so Fab, sit back and enjoy the finer things in life.
Great interviews.
I'm surprised by the Finley one. I really thought he'd be back by using his player option but the way he looked and sounded I'd bet the bank he won't. I couldn't tell if he was thinking retirement or playing elsewhere.
It's a bummer to see Duncan so down.
Bowen too. I got the feeling he wouldn't be back either.
thanks for the vids as always they were great
