First, I hope Manu will fully recover and be ready for next year.

Second, Spurs season is done. I hope now Spurs will lose quickly in playoffs. A long offseason will be nice for Duncan with his knees and for parker with French NT.

Third, the question about what to do with Manu after 2010 is wide open. If he doesn't have an all star season in 09-10, he will be either gone or back in a limited role in 2010.

    Ginobili out for the season
    By Joe Alexander

The Spurs announced today that Manu Ginobili will miss the rest of the season, including the 2009 playoffs, due to an ankle injury.

Ginobili underwent a CT scan and an MRI today. The diagnosis was an "increased marrow edema and a stress fracture in his right distal fibula."

Ginobili has played in 44 of the Spurs' 76 games this season, making seven starts. He averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

He started the Spurs' last three games - a victory over the Indiana Pacers and losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers. Ginobili played 23 minutes on Sunday in Cleveland and scored four points on 2 of 9 shooting.

Ginobili had offseason left ankle surgery after suffering an injury in the 2008 summer Olympics. That caused him to miss the first 16 games of the 2008-09 Spurs season.

GRACIAS!

You can tell that today is not the best of days for me.... I am going to take a recovering nap and save some energy. We are 3350 and its getting better. one thing, do not get mad if some idiot out there starts saying things that are not appropriate, it's inevitable when you do something for everyone. Just someone let me know. THANKS!

    Dude has injury problems?

    Am i wrong?
He had two completely unrelated injuries in the same season. That's tough luck, not being made out of glass. Made out of glass people don't leave their hearts out for 90+ games seasons.
Let's just hope it's not career ending.

Stress fracture sidelines Ginobili for season

Well, hopefully Roger Mason can get out of his slump by playing more minutes since it seems he plays better when he starts rather than off the bench.

We can all only be so lucky as to see this guy come back next year at full strength. The league needs Manu Ginobili. He is truly a special basketballer. I think he may be God. Except he has bad ankles.

Where is Mr. Miyagi when you need him? Damn you, Pat Morita!!!! Come back to life and reprise your role of Mr. Miyagi and rub your hands together, with purpose, and then apply your hands to the ankles of one, Manu Ginobili, and let him crane-kick his way to the 2009 NBA Finals!

    I miss him already..............
