The Spurs announced today that Manu Ginobili will miss the rest of the season, including the 2009 playoffs.
Ginobili underwent a CT scan and an MRI today. The diagnosis was an "increased marrow edema and a stress fracture in his right distal fibula."
wow, this sucks. manu can't catch a break, no pun intended. maybe this will inspire the remainder of the team to overachieve.

I hope not, he's only 31 and i know he can come back from this, even if we lessened his role i don't want manu gone he brings so much to the team when he's healthy you'd have to be crazy not to realize it.

I hope he can heal over the summer and come back. It's bad enough that he lost this season, I'd hate for it to end his career.

Seriously though, this sucks balls. However, I'm a bit relieved because from watching Manu, I just sensed he wasn't right. Now we don't have to wonder.
With Manu out, Duncan ailing and Parker carrying the heavy load, the Spurs are now more vulnerable than at any time in the Duncan era.

I feel that it's the Lakers and then everyone else. Now, the Spurs will have to be perfect just to win each round, regardless of the opponent. Hill needs to play now, Mason needs to get hot, Gooden needs to get smart, and the rest of the role players will have to play out of their minds. That's assuming Duncan and Parker can score 30 a night. .

It's the worse version of the injury that he just spent 6 weeks recovering from.
I knew there was a risk the stress reaction would turn into a stress fracture, but I didn't know it would happen after this much time off
