Glad he’s alright. Will be interested to see what caused it. Hopefully he doesn’t have a serious heart defect that ends his career before it even begins tbh.
Horrible news. Prayers to Bronny for a speedy and complete recovery
Here's a 3rd college hooper that fairly recently had cardiac arrest:
In December 2020, Florida's Keyontae Johnson collapsed on the court during a timeout in the Gators' game at Florida State. Johnson was evaluated by heart specialists from myriad universities for months and eventually cleared for light workouts, but he was never approved by Florida to return to compe ion at UF. Johnson graduated from Florida and will play this season as a grad transfer at Kansas State.
Agreed. We have already seen similar scares with Aldridge and Bosh.
There was a Texas high school football player a while back who collapsed on the sideline during a game and died a couple hours later due to a heart defect nobody knew he had. The doctor later said that if he knew that player had that condition, he never would have allowed the player to play compe ive sports at all.
Terrible. Glad he's okay
Damn, hope Bronny comes out of this ok. Was scary to read the headline before finding out he's in stable condition.
no one wants to see another Reggie Lewis or Hank Gathers situation. Really sucks for Bronny, as he seemed to be NBA level talent.
On a basketball level, it'll be interesting if LeBron calls quits to be with his son. Heart issues don't usually fix themselves.
Imagine being quadruple vaxxed. It couldn't be me.
Trust the science.
Well known that one of LeBron's motivating factors to keep playing is to play with his son one day.
If it turns out Bronny can't make the NBA, could definitely shift his timeline.
I mean the kid has to have some type of underlying heart issue that went undiagnosed. Long term basketball outlook can wait, just happy the kid is alive. Scary af tbh.
I knew it wouldn’t take long for one of you domestic terrorists to show up spouting propaganda.
Yeah, when an 18 YO goes into cardiac arrest, it's never good or even remotely normal.
I’d wait for a more official statement. “Cardiac arrest” might just be the term the media is tossing around. Could be something like AFIB or even an allergic reaction from a supplement or med. They may never release that info though.
like ing roaches, just come out of the woodwork.
Domestic Terrorist? Propaganda? NIH has published some studies on this, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9419896/. So it seems to be a real issue that needs further study. Screaming from the cheap seats from either the left or the right isn’t helpful. My thinking on it is I don’t know… one way or the other, but that some serious studies (not conducted by the pharmaceutical industry) need to be studied. There’s been way too many cases of young, almost exclusively men, developing heart problems, or just dropping dead for no apparent reason and we need to get to the bottom of it fast.
You’re right you don’t know. What I know is that reference and many like it including the bs propaganda spewed by media heads and s on this forum leans on Vaers reporting. Which is an unverified reporting system that includes any and all health related events after vaccination. Including coincidental events.
I’ll copy the pertinent part here so you can understand.
“doctors and other vaccine providers are encouraged to report all adverse events following vaccinations, whether or not they believe that the vaccination was the cause.”
Furthermore
“When evaluating data from VAERS, it is important to note that for any reported event, no cause and effect relationship has been established. VAERS is interested in all potential associations between vaccines and adverse events. Therefore, VAERS collects data on any adverse event following vaccination, be it coincidental or truly caused by a vaccine. The report of an adverse event to VAERS is not do entation that a vaccine caused the event.”
So the very basis for this belief is rooted in misinformation.
Let me repeat the important part. “The report of an adverse event to VAERS is not do entation that a vaccine caused the event.”.
I have no issue with referencing studies etc. but data collection from a source that specifically states that it includes any all events whether coincidental or not isn’t going to cut it.
Far more likely something like cardiac hypertrophy or Wolf- Parkinson-White syndrome but anti-vacciners love there anti-vac stories.
Occurrence of myocarditis is seven times more likely from COVID-19 than vaccine injury side effects: https://www.psu.edu/news/research/st...d-19-vaccines/
Hope it isn't a congenital heart condition. I remember when Reggie Lewis was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition. He had to quit basketball. Then, after sitting a bit, he wanted to make a comeback. So he started practicing and training, and tragically, he had a heart attack on the practice court and passed away. Scary stuff for an athlete that is used to being able to do amazing things.
Basketball players developing heart irregularities and suffering heart attacks while in their prime shape predates COVID vaccines. It's not so common to a high percentage of players, but guys like Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis have died on basketball courts from irregular heart beats and other players have retired because of it, most recently, it impacted LaMarcus Aldridge several times during his career and all those predate COVID.
Get well soon.
Did he take the Covid shot
