I missed the walking backwards holding your arms up in the post percentage you quoted.
37.0%.
If Matt Bonner (or any of the guys listed above) are winning or losing playoff series for you, then your team probably isn't good enough anyway.
I missed the walking backwards holding your arms up in the post percentage you quoted.
Why would you say that? Danny Ferry was one of the main reasons the Spurs beat Phoenix in 03, and they got a le out of it. Nazr Mohammed was an important part of beating Phoenix in 05.
Bonner just doesn't do what he's supposed to do in the playoffs, make threes and spread the floor, he didn't do it last year and this year either and my team right now is not good enough with Bonner anyways.
I would get a young guy from Europe instead of paying Bonner. In Europe there are too many long guys who can shoot three. It would be a little risky move, but that player could have a room to improve.
My question is wether any of those guys know anything about sandwiches?
Okay I thought it was censored, so I said SHYT, and yes he is since we can say that in here and thats for real.
Still though nobody can defend Bonner in here to me, he is utter trash to me sides some threes in the season against weaker teams.
Small role players like Ferry, Kerr, and (at least in theory) Bonner will only affect a small handful of playoff games. If those happen to be at crucial moments, then yes, they can potentially swing playoff series one way or another. But they shouldn't be relied upon to bring it night in, night out in the playoffs, as some here think Bonner should.
Nazr Mohammed was the 2nd or 3rd best big man on the '05 team. I honestly don't believe you can win a championship with Bonner as your 3rd best big man.
Yes, I agree, Matt Bonner needs to shoot better in the playoffs. Yes, there are better options to put on the court if you want defense and rebounding, especially when going against the opposing team's first stringers. But Bonner has a role that he fills, and for better or for worse, the Spurs have hired him to fill that role for four more seasons. No matter where your opinion on Bonner falls on the spectrum, I think we can all hope that the rotation ahead of him stays healthy enough and solid enough that he's not called upon or relied upon to fill a role beyond his means.
Definately Bonner > those scrubs. He is the best shooter of them and how can you pretend that doesn't matter when that's the reason we signed him?
Good point. Steve Novak is definitely a lock down defender.
Bonner is a solid bench player IMHO. Things get ed up when he moves to the starting lineup
With his new contract, Is he tradable ?
Last I checked, Bulls want to get rid of James Jhonson...
maybe they could be interested in swapping players...
Oh yes, didn't you see the bidding war frenzy by other teams when Bonner and Jefferson were free agents a few weeks ago? And that was before Bumford-Popped gave them the huge contracts.
Exactly. It would be equivalent to my wife buying a second ROOMBA because it was half off.
This description is perfect. Beyond the horrible contract and choking is the fact that for that money he is going to be taking minutes away from Splitter and Blair and impeding their development.
So in this case, we overpay for the ROOMBA and have no money left for the mortgage.
Pop and RC felt differently. Bonner doesn't really seem like a Pop player. Go figure. I can't.
