Again a state court doesn't have jurisdiction over federal election interference and last time I checked a person is assumed innocent until proven guilty (in a federal court on federal election interference). There was no federal election held to interfere with when this all went down.
The prosecution will claim that Trump attempted to defraud ny citizens by violating NY election laws that states running for ANY PUBLIC office.
Does this rise to the level of a felony. We will see. The prosecution must prove a misdemeanor of falsifying business records before it can rise to the level of fraud first.
This then has been take to mean that NY voters were affected by a public election Im reading. Why did Donald flee NY. I dont know.
Again. This is not like the Georgia case in which Trump is accused of trying to "secure" electors (and many other charges) AFTER the 2020 election had been declared official.
And the legal eagles seem to claim the NY case is tougher on the prosecution.

because that is how some state and/or federal statutes are written…
if you are caught breaking the law- you are charged with a crime- however - if you break that law while in the commission of another crime- that changes the severity and basically bumps you up on the chart -
like from first degree to 2nd degree felony…
or in this case- from a misdeameanor up to a felony
example: you shoot and kill someone = murder
but
you shot this person while robbing a store = capital murder
or you shoot a cop = capital murder
whereas shooting a civilian = murder
